Place hangers on linked MEP elements
Until now, MEP Hangers allowed placing hangers and supports only on MEP elements in the active model. While structural and architectural models could be linked (as is typical in MEP workflows), working on linked wasn’t supported.
This meant that when working with multiple MEP models, you had to place supports in each one separately. As a result, supports would end up spread across several Revit models. It wasn’t possible to have a single model dedicated to hangers and supports.
With this new release, that changes. The
functionality allows you to place supports on linked MEP models. Now, you can have one model just for hangers and supports, linking in all the MEP and structural models while still being able to place supports. If some disciplines are split into different models, there’s no longer a need to switch between them.)
How it works?
There’s a new toggle button: .
When enabled (highlighted), you can use
, or commands and select MEP elements from linked models. When disabled, the tool works as before — limiting selection to elements in the current model.
This update improves coordination capabilities and helps create a unified system of MEP supports.
Configuration window: UI improvements
We’ve also made subtle enhancements to improve clarity in the configuration window
In the
section, and have been changed to and .)
has two options:
– finds the specified surfaces to attach hangers to, using predefined .
– ignores spacing and detects line-based structural elements (e.g., beams, trusses, girders), placing a support for each intersecting element.
lets you specify the direction (up, down, left, right) to look for structural elements.
