is a global leader in the pool and wellness industry, renowned for delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-performance solutions for residential and commercial aquatic facilities. Headquartered in Spain and operating in over 45 countries, Fluidra combines advanced engineering with a strong commitment to environmental responsibility.
Fluidra successfully delivered the sustainable renovation of the pools at the National Stadium Aquatic Centre in Santiago, Chile, adapting them for the Santiago 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games. The project leveraged Autodesk solutions and benefited from ARKANCE’s expertise and consulting support. This collaboration enabled Fluidra to enhance collaborative design, document management, and data visualisation for all stakeholders. The result was a cost-optimised project delivered within the tight timelines required.
The Pan American and Parapan American Games are major multi-sport events held every four years, drawing a global audience of over 200 million viewers. In October and November 2023, Chile hosted the event for the first time in its history, which required the modernisation of several sports facilities. One of the most significant upgrades was the renovation of the National Stadium Aquatic Centre, which hosted swimming and diving events—a project entrusted to the Spanish company Fluidra.

An Ambitious Efficiency Project Driven by Renovation
Fluidra was selected to lead the modernisation of the National Stadium Aquatic Centre in Santiago, Chile. “With efficiency, sustainability, and innovation as our focus, our proposal involved the renovation of the competition pool, the training pool, and the diving pool,” explains Roger Bosch, Technical Office Manager at Fluidra. He adds, “For the first two, we proposed refurbishing the pool deck with Skypool panels made of galvanised steel, replacing the existing hydraulic system equipment, and adding new swimming competition accessories.”
The project included the renovation of the pool deck using 1.2-metre-high Skypool panel technology made of galvanised steel, incorporating a pedestrian staircase, Sparger system, and Agitation system. It also involved the replacement and expansion of the existing hydraulic system equipment.
“The Project Management during the construction phase was led by Fluidra, using Autodesk Revit for product lists, logistics, and cost management,” explains Judit Mayoral, Project Management Manager at Fluidra. “To avoid setbacks and optimise time on site, and to verify products as they were being installed, we used Autodesk Navisworks,” adds Enrique Ruso, Project Manager at Fluidra.
The goal was twofold: first, to ensure the facility complied with the standards outlined by World Aquatics (formerly FINA) for the Pan American and Parapan American Games, and second, to prepare the venue for hosting future national and international aquatic events. The entire project was conceived with a focus on sustainability and long-term reusability of the sports infrastructure.
The Challenge: Transforming Existing Spaces
The key challenge was adapting an existing facility to meet the demanding requirements of a major international sporting event. To achieve this, Fluidra partnered with ARKANCE as its technology services provider, relying on Autodesk solutions for the design and modelling of the renovation. Fluidra’s partnership with ARKANCE began in 2015 and has since evolved into a strategic collaboration, with ARKANCE playing a central role in Fluidra’s digital transformation across its pool and wellness product lines.
“ARKANCE is our technology provider for consulting services, BIM modelling, and training in Autodesk solutions. It also supplies us with various ARKANCE tools that boost Autodesk software productivity,” says Xavier Bertran, General Manager of Fluidra Engineering.
Success Story: FLUIDRA | Santiago 2023 Games
ARKANCE played a key role throughout the entire modelling process of the existing pools, as well as in the design of new proposals and the hydraulic and electrical installations.
The implementation of a comprehensive portfolio of Autodesk AEC solutions for the transformation of the aquatic sports pools for the Pan American and Parapan American Games enabled Fluidra to work in a connected and collaborative way—across internal and external teams, data, and processes.
ARKANCE Services to Meet Project Demands
For the renovation of the National Stadium Aquatic Centre in Chile, ARKANCE provided Autodesk software and solution consulting, along with BIM modelling services across multiple disciplines including Architecture, MEP, and documentation.
“This project required enlarging the diving pool, which involved not only creating a new design but also simulating the construction system to be used,” explains Iván López, Account Manager at ARKANCE. “To achieve this, we offered guidance on the latest Autodesk solutions to maximise the project’s efficiency and competitiveness. We also delivered modelling and documentation services to minimise time across all project phases.”

Autodesk Solutions Powering a Transformative Project
To bring this renovation project to life, Fluidra relied on ARKANCE’s expertise and a comprehensive suite of Autodesk solutions:
Autodesk Revit Architecture: Used to model the existing pools and design the new structure.
Autodesk Revit MEP: Applied for the design of new hydraulic and electrical systems.
Autodesk Revit Documentation: Enabled detailed project documentation, drawing generation, and use of point clouds to capture the existing technical room.
AutoCAD: Provided a visual overview of the facility layout and architectural model.
Navisworks Manage: Used for model coordination, clash detection, and construction management support for the Project Manager.
A360 & Autodesk Drive: Allowed model visualisation and sharing with external stakeholders.
Autodesk Docs: Ensured efficient and centralised document management.
Autodesk Collaborate Pro: Supported collaborative design across teams and locations.
Dynamo: Enabled automation of repetitive tasks for greater productivity.
Results: Time and Cost Optimisation
Leveraging Autodesk solutions was key to the project’s success, delivering significant time and cost savings. Using Autodesk Revit with point cloud data enabled accurate modelling and coordination between the old and new installations—resulting in a 20% reduction in prototyping and material waste.
Model coordination with Navisworks led to an 80% reduction in on-site execution issues during construction. The use of Autodesk Docs and Collaborate Pro streamlined modelling workflows and ensured strong traceability between Fluidra and the project’s contracting authority.
These tools enabled a fully collaborative lifecycle approach, even with international suppliers, while task automation greatly improved overall project efficiency. Ultimately, Autodesk technology combined with ARKANCE’s expertise allowed Fluidra to take a decisive step forward in excellence, competitiveness, and innovation in the pool and wellness sector.
