Smart Documentation: one tool to replace three
We are simplifying and strengthening documentation workflows across our Precast Concrete, Wood Framing and Metal framing add-ons for Revit .
The familiar tools - Smart Views, Smart Assemblies, and Sort Mark - are being merged into a single, more capable tool:
.Why this change?
Separate tools took up too much space in the Revit ribbon
Their features overlapped, adding complexity
Maintaining three tools consumed extra development resources
What does Smart Documentation bring?
Combines the power of Smart Views, Smart Assemblies, and Sort Mark
Includes sheet management, Excel-to-Revit imports, and more
Declutters your Revit interface for a smoother experience
You gain more features without a price increase
Transition Period
For these reasons, we have decided to start a gradual migration from the SV, SA, and SM tools to Smart Documentation. From now until early 2026, we’re offering a transition period.
What to do? First, create a copy of your configuration files and then follow the migration guide. If anything doesn’t work as expected, please submit a support ticket and we’ll assist you.

NEW feature for Concrete industry users: Multi Rebar Annotation in Smart Tags
Alongside these documentation improvements, there’s also something new for
users. We’ve introduced support for , a highly requested feature that takes reinforcement detailing to the next level. In drafting workflows within Revit, there are two ways to annotate reinforcement: by tagging each bar individually or by using Multi Rebar Annotation to capture an entire group at once. Until now, our tools supported only the first method. Thanks to your feedback, Multi Rebar Annotation is now fully integrated into Smart Tags , making your detailing workflow faster, cleaner, and more consistent.
The annotation automatically displays key information such as bar mark, quantity, size, and spacing. It keeps your precast drawings clear and readable while ensuring that essential data is always visible. This is particularly useful for vertical bars in walls, stirrups in beams, and tread reinforcement in stairs.
Key benefits for reinforcement drafters in the Concrete industry:
Annotate entire rebar groups at once
Clean, readable drawings with less clutter
Dynamic updates linked to model changes
Seamless integration with Revit schedules and numbering
