Reinforcement tools – smarter, faster, more flexible
This release introduces new features that streamline reinforcement configuration and detailing, enabling users to complete tasks faster through a simplified workflow and reduced steps within the software.
1. Simplifying rebar placement: fewer steps, greater efficiency
Based on client feedback, we’ve introduced improvements that simplify rebar placement and significantly speed up reinforcement setup. The new Apply button lets you reinforce walls, columns, and beams instantly - without closing the configuration window. At the same time, the Link Command makes it easy to copy reinforcement setups to similar elements directly from the same window.
Previously, users had to:
open the configuration window and create the setup,
open different window and assign configuration to wall layers,
only after closing all window - generate rebar.
These new features remove the last two steps, allowing the entire process to happen within a single floating window.
Together, they reduce repetitive actions, streamline the workflow, and make reinforcement configuration faster, more intuitive, and less prone to errors.
2. Enhanced column reinforcement with new diamond stirrups
A new stirrup shape — diamond stirrups — is now available for square columns, enabling better confinement and a more balanced reinforcement layout. This option is currently supported for square column reinforcement.
3. Improved logic for bars around openings
When openings are close together, the system now automatically creates a single continuous bar instead of two separate ones.
This improvement reduces manual adjustments, speeds up detailing, and ensures more accurate and consistent reinforcement, helping you save time and avoid errors.
4. Faster project startup with the new Load Families feature
Starting a new project is now easier than ever — users can load reinforcement families directly into their projects. This enhancement streamlines setup and reduces time spent on initial project preparation.

Smart Connections – enhanced control and flexibility
The latest release of Smart Connections gives users greater precision and efficiency in wall part management and connection accuracy, helping streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve coordination across projects.
1. Maximize accuracy and reduce waste with Split Parts
Multi-layer walls - such as precast or cast-in-place walls with insulation - often require splitting individual layers into precise sections.
The new Split Parts feature addresses this need by enabling exact sizing and quantities for material ordering, reducing waste, and saving time across production and installation planning.
A new Split Parts function is now available within the Smart Connections toolset as a floating list. It lets you divide wall parts into separate segments using predefined configurations, or use a manually split wall as a template and apply the same logic to other walls with a single click, saving hours of manual work.
2. Faster rehosting with improved element management
During detailing in Revit, elements can lose their host due to model changes, coordination issues, or simple human error. When this happens, those elements are no longer included in assemblies - and with hundreds of assemblies in a project, manually finding and fixing each unhosted element is almost impossible. This slows teams down and increases the risk of inaccuracies in production or onsite work.
With this release, unhosted elements can now be identified and rehosted automatically. Users can select all affected elements - or only specific ones - and rehost them with a single click.
This improvement can eliminate up to 90% of the manual work, turning tasks that used to take hours or even a full day into a matter of minutes. As a result, teams can work more accurately, avoid costly mistakes, and maintain a much smoother detailing workflow.
3. Expanded support for foundation connections
Structural connections can now be added not only to slab and isolated foundations, but also to wall foundations.
This extension gives you greater design flexibility and enables more accurate detailing across complex foundation systems.
4. More accurate framing detection with Left/Right Virtual Intersection
Smart Connections now allows using Left/Right Virtual Intersection on parts to detect structural framing direction — vertical or horizontal.
By default, it is set to vertical, but horizontal framing can now be searched and layout rules applied. This is especially useful where sheathing intersects with structural framing, ensuring accurate nailer placement and detailing.
Greater control over wall splitting with new options
Wall splitting in Revit is now more flexible and visually intuitive with the latest Smart Walls enhancements.
The tool now supports new split options, allowing users to split walls by visible reference planes and visible grids, giving users greater control over wall segmentation directly within the model view. This improvement simplifies coordination and ensures more intuitive wall management across different design stages.
Additional improvements and fixes
The update also includes multiple usability and performance refinements that make everyday work smoother:
Ability to update search rules, so older configurations can be saved and adjusted.
Fixed Top & Bottom Virtual Intersection bug — elements now correctly recognize roofs with small slopes.
UI/UX enhancements in Smart Connections configuration window for a smoother experience.
'Relative to length' option updated to properly recognize dot symbols.
Why it matters
These updates reflect our ongoing commitment to help construction professionals work more efficiently and confidently in Revit.
As part of the Be.Smart Concrete Collection, the latest Precast Concrete release combines automation, precision, and usability to strengthen every step of the precast workflow in Revit — from reinforcement detailing to wall coordination.
Together, these enhancements help teams design smarter, minimize rework, and deliver projects with greater speed and accuracy.
