Improving multi-disciplinary collaboration
Jeroen van Neerbos, Operations Director at leading Dutch energy solutions provider Linthorst, manages large scale technical projects. Projects range from hotels and offices to schools and industrial facilities, and accessible information is crucial.
The challenge
Employees collaborate with many different professionals from electrical engineers and architects to contractors and consultants. Previously, project information was spread across shared drives, local folders, and individual hard drives. Multiple versions of drawings circulated simultaneously, causing confusion and unnecessary coordination efforts, especially between mechanical and electrical departments. They needed a way to create structure and clarity.

Now it is one platform. The collaboration with external parties also happens via the same platform.
The approach
Working with ARKANCE, Linthorst implemented Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud), as a single centralised environment for project data and collaboration. By standardising how information is stored, accessed, and shared, Linthorst created a common data environment for all people involved (internal teams and external partners). Modernising workflows helped eliminate duplicate files, reduce redundancies and provide verified information.
This transition required change management and alignment across departments, while building a strong foundation for project ownership and collaboration. “ARKANCE really acts as a sparring partner. Our teams had the freedom to create their own working environment while benefiting from external expertise” shares van Neerbos.
The outcome
